Do you have any approaches to solving the corona crisis? Now is your chance!
Chancellor Angela Merkel recently emphasized the urgency of the current corona crisis with clear words: "Since German unity, no, since the Second World War, there has been no challenge to our country where our common solidarity is so important." This task can only be accomplished together. The federal government is now calling on the people to find solutions to the corona crisis.
In order to develop such approaches, the Federal Government is organizing a so-called hackathon together with various social organizations from March 20 to 22, 2020. Citizens can also participate. You can find out how this should work in the following.
The deadline is Friday, March 20th, 2020
Until Friday morning (March 20, 2020), every citizen can submit a problem to the Federal Government that is related to the Corona crisis. On March 20, 2020, a joint online forum will then attempt to find solutions to the problems submitted. Socially committed citizens are also invited to this.
The Federal Government and the civilian population are looking for 48 hours to find solutions to problems that arise in Germany due to the spread of the corona virus and the associated restrictions. Participation is possible on the wirvsvirushackathon.org website and on Twitter at @wirvsvirushack.
Use digitization to manage crises
The “hackathon” offers a common organizational and technical framework in which the participants can exchange information online in order to develop working prototypes and solutions for socially relevant issues relating to the corona crisis. The hackathon is also intended to send a strong signal of how digitization can contribute to new ways of coping with the crisis.
How does the hackathon work?
First of all, everyone has the opportunity to submit a problem on the wirvsvirushackathon.org website until Friday morning, which should be resolved. If you want to participate in the solution, you can register as a participant or offer yourself as a sponsor or mentor. Starting on Friday, the participants will come together in virtual groups to work out a solution for the respective challenge in the next 48 hours. "Everyone is invited to participate," emphasizes the federal government. The more diverse the teams are, the better the solution! (vb)
