10 tips for diabetes - endurance and strength training



Weight training can lower the long-term blood sugar level by up to 0.5 percent, endurance training even by up to 0.7 percent. This roughly corresponds to the effect of drug therapy. Sport also improves the insulin sensitivity of the cells. In diabetes mellitus, at least 150 minutes of endurance sport should be practiced over three to five days per week. Weight training is part of the program every three days and should include all large muscle groups.
